Outside the timetable.
The days that turn a gym into a club. An in-house competition, a hero workout once a year, a session on the water, and a monthly hour for the women and for the men. Every ability, nobody watches from the side.
The Mission.
Once a month we bring the women of the gym together for a morning of movement, connection and celebrating each other. A Sunday, 7:30 to 8:30am, women only: train together, encourage one another and see what your body can do. It is not about competing. Then into Darkroom to slow things down over a coffee and a shake, because the connection after the workout matters as much as the workout. Included in your membership.

Stand Tall.
Once a month the men of the gym train together for Stand Tall: an hour on a Sunday, 7:30 to 8:30am, men only, working hard, pushing each other and enjoying training as a team. More than fitness, it is about showing up and being part of a strong, supportive community. Once the work is done, into Darkroom for a coffee and a shake. Train together. Connect. Stand Tall. Included in your membership.

Metcon Club.
Train together. Push harder. Compete stronger.
Metcon Club is our once-a-month training session bringing members together for a challenging, competition-focused workout.
All levels are welcome, but it’s especially suited to anyone looking to take their first steps into CrossFit competitions or level up their performance at intermediate or advanced level.
Expect great energy, tough workouts and the chance to train alongside like-minded members who want to push their limits. Whether you’re preparing for your first competition or chasing your next one, Metcon Club is where we put in the work together.

The Backyard Ultra and the Huntsman Half.
Run club puts on two of its own each year: the Backyard Ultra in the spring and the Huntsman Half and Marathon at Christmas. Members have run their first 5k, 10k, half, marathon and ultra with us. Sundays at 9am is where it starts.

Murph.
A mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 press-ups, 300 squats, then a mile back, in a weighted vest if you want one. A hero workout done once a year as a club, outside, together, and finished by everyone. Photos from May 2025.
WOD on the Water.
A morning at the lake. Paddleboards, dumbbells on the jetty, a run round the water and, for a few, a swim they had not planned. Photos from 2024.
The Hunt.
The club’s own competition. Members enter in pairs or teams, every workout is scaled so anyone on the timetable can take part, and the whole room turns out to shout. Photos from The Hunt 2025 on our own floor, then 2024.
Book your free intro
We welcome you to book a no sweat free introduction with our owner Chris Hines. The hour induction is a way in which we can get to know each other, touch upon our training methodology, take a tour of the facility and finish off on the gym floor with an individualised session.
Thanks. Hannah will call you.
She will book your free hour with Chris. No card, no commitment.
